Wat Chayamangkalaram - (The Reclining Buddha Temple)

Wat Chayamangkalaram is a Thai Buddhist Temple which has one of the largest Reclining Buddha statues in the world. The temple was built in 1845 on a land given by the Queen Victoria to show her goodwill to the Thailand. The buddha statues measures 33 metres in length and fully gold plated. There are a number of statues  and mythical creatures in the compound of the temple. The craftsmanship is fine and magnificent giving it the charm to become one of the tourist attractions in Penang.
